Spiritual Life

The Director Spiritual Life at USudbury offers students and residents opportunities for conversation and consultation on issues affecting their spiritual, personal and relational lives. Services are offered in a bi-lingual, ecumenical, and multi-faith atmosphere, and are available to all regardless of their religious tradition, or lack thereof, gender, race, language, or sexual orientation. All students on the Laurentian campus are welcome to access this service.

In addition to individual consultations, regular group gatherings called ‘Speak Your Piece’ offer opportunities for discussing and debating issues of interest to the participants. Guest speakers are welcomed throughout the academic year, and opportunities for visiting various faith traditions are offered.

A branch of the Canadian Catholic Students Association is sponsored jointly by the University of Sudbury and the St. Ignatius of Loyola parish, located at USudbury, and is open to all catholic students at Laurentian.

Evening prayer is offered in the chapel each Wednesday at 4:40 p.m. and all are welcome. A Roman Catholic celebration of the Eucharist is held each Sunday at 4:00 p.m. The chapel is also open each day for quiet reflection and prayer.

The office of the Director of Spiritual Services, is located just inside the front entrance to the Lucien Matte Residence and may be contacted at 673-5661 ext. 424.
